Looking to have a backyard flock of your own but don’t know where to start? This two-day workshop covers everything a fledgling poultry farmer will need to hit the ground running this season, and tips and tricks to avoid “cluck ups”. Topics covered include: breed selection, supplies, care and feeding, and egg processing. Participants will receive a copy of all materials.

This program is recommended for ages 16+ and will feature hands-on experience with the Accokeek Foundation’s flock of heritage birds. This program will take place both indoors and outdoors. The Accokeek Foundation follows masking guidance from the National Park Service and local health agencies. Masks will be required indoors and for outdoor non-socially distanced activities if the COVID-19 community level for Prince George's County, as defined by the CDC, is HIGH at the time of the program.
