Come Dye With Us 11:00

Dyeing to bring some color into your life? Join local fiber artist, Sylvia Demar, for a FREE hands on workshop exploring the transformative beauty of natural dyes on natural fibers. Participants will learn the process of natural dyeing with native and non-native plants and dye their own cotton bandana to take home.

This program is brought to you free thanks to a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and is recommended for ages 8 and up. Registration is required to secure your timeslot and materials for the hands–on portion.  There is no registration required for observers. There are a limited number of wool dye kits available for purchase for those who wish to dye with our Heritage Breed Hog Island Wool. Wool dye kits include 1 oz wool roving and a 10 yd skein of spun yarn. If you would like a wool dye kit, please select that ticket type at registration.

This program is being offered at 11:00, 11:45, 12:30, 1:15 and 2:00. If this time slot is sold out, click here to view other times.

Proceeds from this program support the Accokeek Foundation's education programs and land conservation work in Piscataway Park. Please consider adding a tax-deductible donation with your registration to help offset our costs.
