Before refrigeration and modern convenience foods, people fed their families using a wider variety of ingredients, tailoring their diets to the seasons and to their local resources. But today, even those who are interested in eating seasonally and locally might find they don’t know where to start. Join us as our guest, Chef Terrance of Meallenial Living shows us how we can utilize lesser-used ingredients, rooster meat from our heritage breed Icelandic chickens, over the open fire and even compare to an 18th century recipe.

This one-hour demonstration takes place outdoors on the National Colonial Farm. Unvaccinated visitors over the age of 2 years are asked to wear masks, during the tour, and all visitors are required to wear a mask inside the Visitor Center and other public buildings.
